With the monkey finally off their backs, St Elizabeth Technical (STETHS) go in search of another victory in the ISSA/Flow daCosta Cup this afternoon against BB Coke in one of 17 scheduled matches.

STETHS, who defeated Group E rivals Munro College 1-0 on Saturday, appear now to be hitting their strides, with a first win in three matches. They, however, still trail Lacovia High in the race for group honours. Lacovia lead with seven points after three matches.

Surprise team of the group, Maggotty, and STETHS, have five points each, but Maggotty have a better goal difference. BB Coke have four points, with Newell and Munro on a single point each.

A win for BB Coke today would leave a group which many pundits had earmarked for STETHS and Lacovia wide open.

Other ties in the group pit Maggotty against Lacovia at the Appleton Sports Complex, while Munro host Newell in what could be the pivotal game for them if they are to entertain any hope of moving beyond the first round.

Omar Wedderburn, the STETHS coach, said it comes as no surprise to him that other teams are showing real quality in group play.

"Maggotty and BB Coke are proving very tough and Lacovia for the past three years or so have been very competitive. So for this game, it's very important that we get three points," said Wedderburn.

"We are feeling good about our chances because we need to get back to the top of the group where we feel we really belong, and we will get there, but it's a game at a time," he added.
