In a statement released yesterday, Moore urged supporters in east Portland to use their wisdom and courage of mind in the service of their communities and promised to continue working in their interest.

Attorney-at-law Andrea Moore has now accepted the People’s National Party’s (PNP) decision to bypass her and stick with Dr Linvale Bloomfield as its candidate for east Portland in the next general elections.

She is appealing to PNP supporters in the constituency to end the public demonstrations and unite behind Bloomfield.

Moore defeated Bloomfield, the incumbent Member of Parliament, by eight votes in an indicative poll held in September, triggering expectations among some comrades that she would be the party’s standard bearer in east Portland.

But nearly a month later the executive committee of the PNP decided to stick with Bloomfield, setting off angry protests among supporters who accused the party of ignoring their wishes.

However, in a statement released yesterday, Moore urged supporters in east Portland to use their wisdom and courage of mind in the service of their communities and promised to continue working in their interest.
