New Era Homes chairman behind bars, on sexual offence charges
Leo Taddeo, the chairman of New Era Homes 2000 Limited, is behind bars on sexual offence charges.
The Real Estate Developer, who is a Canadian national, was taken into custody late last week.
Noted attorney-at-law K.D. Knight has confirmed that he will be representing Taddeo when he goes before the court later this week.
Taddeo is well-known for his New Era firm’s construction of 200 middle-income homes on the 131-acre property at Caymanas Estate in St Catherine.
The Caymanas Country Club Estate was the first phase of the real estate project.
New Era acquired the land for the residential development from the Urban Development Corporation and was one of the first public-private partnership deals to be struck under the expansive 10,000-acre Caymanas project.
