Goats valuing more than $2m stolen, police appeal for information on thieves

The Praedial Larceny Prevention Unit is appealing to the public for information to help recover over $2 million worth of goats stolen in St James.
The Granville police say the farmer went to visit his farm on Sunday morning, when he noticed that several heads of the goats were missing.
Further checks revealed that 35 goats where slaughtered on the farm and parts of their bodies and unborn foetuses left on the scene.
Two dogs that were used to provide security were also killed.
The public is being reminded that no pregnant animal must be slaughtered unless it is inspected and approved by a registered veterinary surgeon.
Deputy Superintendent of Police Kevin Francis who heads the Praedial Larceny Unit is encouraging farmers to remain vigilant and to join the Farm Watch Programme in their communities to fight against praedial larceny.
