LASCO top cop inspires students
The LASCO/JCF 2016 Top Cop, Corporal Kimaryo Pinnock, made a special presentation to students of the Spaulding High School in Clarendon on Friday May 6, when he empowered them to become great leaders and add to national pride.
Pinnock who is temporarily assigned to the Community Safety and Security Branch in Kingston, commended the partnership between the JCF and the institution, specifically its Police Youth Club and encouraged its continuation.
With the JCF committed to quality service delivery and social reconstruction, Pinnock admits the unethical conduct of some members have marred the image of the organisation, hence the importance of having relationships like the one at the school - which will ultimately help the police to better carry out its objectives.
Pinnock implored the students to make the correct decisions so as to avoid lifelong consequences.
"What we ought to ensure is that our attitudes are positively aligned with achieving our goals ... it is very important for you to become progressive, for you to become successful and for you to become a productive adults in the future," he added.
He also gave the students tips to guarantee a life of success by following specific guidelines.
"You must ensure that your actions are exemplary; be true to yourselves and others around you; be tactful; ensure that under difficult circumstances you still remain positive and calm."
Seize opportunities
He reminded them that they were aspiring for success so they should also aspire for intelligence and seize opportunities to get a good education.
"Be thoughtful - don't show disregard for people around you, be understanding, be diligent and work extremely hard for what you want, nothing comes easily. Be ethical in what you do ... that is the key to success, with these guidelines, you can achieve and you will achieve. "
Pinnock charged the students to work hard and position themselves for greatness and prosperity.
Among the students present were the executive members of the institution's Police Youth Club who were officially pinned and with emblems of the JCF.
