Jamaica College (JC) past student Kuti Ra graduated from Hillel Academy's International Baccalaureate (IB) two-year diploma programme for high-school seniors on Thursday, May 26.

With 16 CXC passes already under his belt, the young man was deemed the perfect candidate to benefit from the rich academic experience of Hillel Academy's IB programme, and he didn't disappoint.

The Gore Family Foundation, headed by JC old boy Phillip Gore, who continues to take a keen interest in his alma mater, acted to ensure that such an exceptional student was rewarded with a much-needed tuition scholarship for his final year of the IB programme.

Kuti, who also received the Theory of Knowledge award at the graduation ceremony, is now well on his way to a full scholarship at an Ivy League institution; following in the footsteps of other outstanding Gore scholars, the most notable of whom is Sherona Forrester, the 2016 Rhodes Scholar.
