CFW ready to bask in the 'Purple Rain'
Caribbean Fashionweek (CFW) is here again, and the runway heats up tonight at Villa Ronai in St Andrew with the Caribbean Master Designers Tribute to music icon Prince.
CFW is proud to be the Caribbean's tribute to the music superstar with performances by Prince's band, Morris Day & the Time, and Tessanne Chin. The event is inspired by the late music and fashion icon, who will be the muse for a number of the designs and collections to be featured over the weekend.
Pulse chairman and executive producer for CFW, Kingsley Cooper, noted that for this the 16th anniversary of the fashion extravaganza, CFW will be returning to its first host home at Villa Ronai.
This, Pulse CEO Safia Cooper confirmed, will be a fitting venue, since it is a "home for creative minds and art, while lending itself to fashion". And according to Pulse Fashion Director Romae Gordon, now the team will be free to "go to town on the venue and set".
Tonight's line-up will include Caribbean Master Designer, on Saturday, some newcomers, and CFW wraps up on Sunday, June 19 with the Best of CFW Collections and a performance tribute to Prince.
Emerging Pulse stars such Vogue models Alicia Burke and Francine James will captivate the audience when they hit the runway this week, along with other seasoned Pulse supermodels.
So, all you 'fashionistas', trendsetters and style addicts, get ready for a week of fashion and entertainment as CFW 2016 gets ready to bask in 'Purple Rain'.
