#RioGoldRush: Williams lands short in triple jump

Jamaica’s wait for a medal in the jumps at the Olympics will continue for sometime longer after triple jumper Kimberly Williams failed in her bid to make it onto the podium at the 2016 Rio Olympics.

Williams’ biggest jump of 14.53m, which came on her last attempt, was only good enough for seventh in the final.

The gold medal was won by Caterine Ibarguen of Colombia with a season’s best mark of 15.17, as she added the Olympic title to her two World Championships victories.

Venezuela’s Yulimar Rojas, 14.98, accounted for the silver with Kazakhstan’s Olga Rypakova taking the bronze with her mark of 14.74; also a new SB.
