Driver in fatal Flat Bridge crash remanded

El Fargo Slew was driving a Suzuki Grand Vitara when he reportedly lost control while trying to overtake a truck in the vicinity of the Flat Bridge.

The driver of the motor vehicle that crashed in the Rio Cobre killing six people in July was remanded when he appeared in the St Catherine Parish Court today.

The vehicle then plunged into the Rio Cobre.

Slew and another man escaped but six others including the pastor of a church in Linstead, St. Catherine drowned.

Slew appeared before Parish Judge Tara Reid-Carr on six counts of vehicular manslaughter and once count of driving without a license.

He is to return to court on September 16.
