NWC employees robbed of IDs, uniforms ... customers warned against imposters
The National Water Commission (NWC) is urging customers to be on the lookout for thieves who may be posing as employees.
This after two NWC meter readers were recently robbed of their employee ID cards, uniforms and meter reading equipment while conducting duties in the Brooks Level Road area in Stony Hill, St. Andrew.
The agency says the employees were also robbed of their cellular phones before they were physically abused.
The matter was reported to the Stony Hill Police Station.
Meanwhile, the NWC is reporting that thieves continue to steal customer's water meters.
It says between July and August, a number of customers in St Catherine, particularly Portmore, have been targeted.
The public is being asked to report to the police any suspicious actions of persons trying to sell water meters.
