The Institute of Jamaica (IOJ) is pleased to announce Heritage Fest 2016 under the theme Our Heritage, Your Festival, which will be held on Friday, October 28, at 10 a.m. at our head office, 10-16 East Street, downtown Kingston.

Heritage Fest 2016 is a one-day cultural event that presents historic and folklore stories about Jamaica through animated programmes such as candy-making demonstrations, storytelling, drumming, museum tours, multicultural displays, and a live concert featuring the Bare Essentials Band.

Through music, dance, arts and crafts, artefacts, and engaging presentations, we remind persons of our rich and diverse past. In addition to the above-mentioned classics, this year's Heritage Fest will feature a few new elements: Visitors will enjoy delicious Jamaican cuisine, an array of local herbs and spices, jewellery, crafts, and our Downtown Bus Tour at affordable prices. There will also be a Farmer's Market as well as fun activities for children.

We are inviting everyone to tour our historic buildings and grounds. Admission is free.
