UPDATE: Mandeville student dies after being hit by taxi

MANDEVILLE, Manchester:
The second-form student of the Victor Dixon High School who was on Friday morning involved in a car crash  has died.

The student, whose name is has not been released, was admitted to Mandeville Regional Hospital in a critical condition after being hit by a taxi at the intersection of Manchester and May Day roads.

It is reported that about 7:30 Friday morning, the student got off a taxi and crossed the street at the intersection, about 200 metres from her school.

That's when she was hit by another taxi travelling the opposite direction.

The schoolgirl was flung on to a Honda CR-V travelling towards Mandeville.

She was immediately rushed to the Mandeville Regional Hospital.
