The Shipping Association of Jamaica (SAJ) staged a three-day workshop dubbed 'Business Writing for Professionals' on February 27 and 28 and March 2, 2017. The workshop provided participants with an in-depth exploration of modern, cutting-edge business writing skills.

Participants travelled from as far as Trelawny to take part in the three-day intensive course. Asked why the company chose to present a workshop of this kind, Dorraine Wright, operations manager, human resource and training at the Shipping Association of Jamaica, explained that "communicating and writing effectively will build a company's reputation, resolve and prevent conflicts, and contribute to strong relationships between employees, your company, its customers and the business community".

The next workshop to be put on by the SAJ is a corporate events training and management workshop to begin on March 28, 2017. This will be followed by the much-anticipated Mastering Microsoft Excel series, which seeks to unlock participants' productivity by training them in the many untapped resources to be harnessed in Excel.
