Several roads in Corporate Area closed for carnival march

A number of major roadways in the Corporate Area will be closed throughout today to facilitate the Jamaica Carnival road march.

The road closures were scheduled to start at 8 a.m.

The police Corporate Communications Unit (CCU) says motorists should expect delays and detours in the New Kingston, Half-Way Tree and Liguanea areas.

However, the CCU says adequate police personnel will be deployed to ensure the safety of members of the public and the smooth flow of traffic.

The police are also appealing to motorists to exercise patience if they are inconvenienced by the road closures.
