The threat of rain is no deterrent for the masqueraders now marching on the streets of the Corporate Area.

American nationals Janae Allen and Dante Devine who came to Jamaica from Houston, Texas on Tuesday, say it has been a wet couple of days but  they are determined to have a great time on the road today.

A large contingent of police personnel is also along the route as well as private security guards.

Heavy rains have been lashing sections of the island, particularly eastern parishes in the past few days.

Landslides and flooding have been reported in Portland and St Thomas.

In Clarendon, several houses and businesses were inundated by floodwaters.
