Music, food, fun at Select Grocer grand opening

Giving live performance in a supermarket is not new to Christine Fisher. And so the Jamaican vocalist was at home, recently, when she and husband, Alex Martin Blaken, not only rendered the National Anthem of Jamaica at the grand opening of Select Grocer, Manor Park Plaza, but provided entertainment for shoppers long after the official ceremony.

The full-time singer and mother of two said of the experience, "It's good, it's good."

With Alex on keyboard, and son Asim-Martin Blaken on drum, she sang a wide cadre of musical genres and explained how the songs were chosen for her set.

"First of all, we were told that the owner for the supermarket is a Christian, so we had to be very careful of the songs we are singing. I normally sing clean things, but I had to go through with a fine-tooth comb. So we did gospel and something that everybody can relate to," she said.

There was also a special request for "a good song" by Sir Patrick Allen, governor general of Jamaica. And Fisher performed Louise Armstrong What a Wonderful World. "I think he was pleased," she added.

The Jamaican vocalist said she is also working on her "ongoing" album. "It will soon be out. I am just fine-tuning a few things. It will be out hopefully before the year ends."

 Ronda Rousey has tied the knot

The UFC fighter wed her beau Travis Browne on the weekend and now Travis has taken to social media to share a photo from the big day.

Captioning a black and white photo of the couple, Travis wrote: "What an amazing day!! She is so perfect in every way! She makes me so happy! She is my other half! I Love You @rondarousey #browsey2017 (sic)"

The pair had previously revealed they were set to have a backyard wedding in Hawaii.

She said: "He's Hawaiian so we're gonna do kinda like a backyard, Mexican Corona party - but, like, in Hawaii."

Travis got down on one knee by a waterfall in New Zealand and Ronda confessed she had already said yes before he had even asked.

Opening up about the day Travis asked for her hand in marriage, she added: "It was actually after heavy rain and we were under this waterfall. Apparently, he had this whole speech prepared but it just went down into bullet points in the moment. So he pulls out the ring and I'm already like, 'Uh huh' before he even says anything. It's like, 'Okay, we're in New Zealand, we're under a waterfall, will you marry me'?"

 John Legend says having a baby 'challenged' his relationship

The All Of Me hitmaker admits it was a difficult time for him and his wife Chrissy Teigen in their relationship when they were struggling to conceive naturally but he feels blessed they were able to have daughter Luna through IVF.

He said: "Having a baby is a big challenge for a couple, and going through that together strengthens your bond because if you make it through [having a child], you know you can make it through anything.

"I think it's especially difficult when you can't conceive naturally. You want to feel like everything's working properly and want everything to be perfect, but sometimes it's not. I wouldn't say we can't conceive naturally, but I would say that it's enough of a challenge where it felt like we needed help. We're lucky that we're living in an age where we can conceive in other ways. [IVF] brought us Luna and hopefully it will bring us a few more awesome kids, too."

And the 38-year-old singer credits Chrissy for encouraging him to be more open in their relationship.

He added to Cosmopolitan magazine: "There's no problem with openness in our relationship. You know Chrissy. She doesn't hold anything back! I'm quite reserved, but being with someone like her inspires me to be open about my emotions. She brings them out of me because she's so open about hers ... We're always honest with each other, so we discuss everything that's on our minds."

Michael Jackson keeps his family 'motivated'

The Beat It hitmaker passed away in June 2009 at the age of 50 and his brother Tito Jackson has remembered the late star on what would have been his 59th birthday.

Speaking at the UK premiere of Stratton at the Vue Cinema in London's Leicester Square, Tito told BANG Showbiz: "Michael is very very much missed and the family completely miss him. It is just a special day. Every day is a special day for us. Michael is a person you'll never forget.

"He was very special and creative. He had pure love and honesty in his heart. Just to know that keeps us motivated and push the message of love and peace."

And Tito is not the only person to leave a tribute for the King of Pop to mark his birthday.

In her own post, Michael's daughter Paris Jackson admitted she will "never feel love again" the way she did with him.

In an emotive caption, she wrote: "birthday wishes to the love of my life, the one person who showed me what passion truly was, the one that gave me solid morals to live by and how to dream. i will never feel love again the way i did with you. you are always with me and i am always with you. though i am not you, and you are not me, i know with all of my being that we are one. and our souls will never change in that way. thank you for the magic, forever and always. (sic)"
