ISSA schoolgirl netball begins this week

DEFENDING ISSA urban senior schoolgirl netball champions Excelsior High and their rural counterparts Denbigh High will start the defence of their titles when both competitions get under way this week.

Action in the Corporate Area will commence on Wednesday, but the defending champions will not get into action until Friday, when they play host to Denham Town High in a Group C encounter.

The rural competition also begins on Wednesday, but Denbigh also start their campaign on Friday, when they are at home to Garvey Maceo.

This season, urban teams will be placed in six groups, where both the winners and runners-up will advance to the second round of the competition, which will begin on November 3, where both junior and senior teams will be placed in two groups of six.

Teams in the rural area will be divided into 12 groups, where the winners and runners-up from each will advance to the quarter-finals, which will begin on November15.
