Sound of Man for Swallowfield Chapel concert

After the scintillating performances of the 'He's Alive' concert three years ago, Sound of Man has reunited for 'Hero'. This time, the quintet is scheduled to harmonise on the 47th anniversary of Swallowfield Chapel, October 15 at 6 p.m.

"Hero' features some of Jamaica's leading gospel vocalists, Ian Spencer, Michael Watson, Andrew Lawrence, Fidel Fraser Lee Scharschmidt, and Pastor David Henry. And to complement their beautiful sounds, Dennis Rushton will be on keyboards.

Our burning passion is to bring godly hope, healing, reconciliation and transformation, to lives, our families, communities and nation," said Pastor David Henry.

Patrons can expect to be amazed by the vocal range from the high-pitched countertenor, straight through to the solid low-toned bass, as Sound of Man mesmerises with variations of traditional hymns, contemporary worship song, reggae, jazz, and much more.

The benefit concert is expected to contribute significantly to the renovation of the Swallowfield Chapel multipurpose facility, dubbed the 'Transformation Oasis'.

Once completed, the church's recently acquired building will serve Swallowfield, Nannyville, Stadium Gardens and beyond, through vocational skills development, a learning centre, library, counselling services, dispute resolution, a computer centre, recreational centre and various other forms of skills training.

In April 2014, the Swallowfield Outreach Foundation first hosted the 'He's Alive' fundraising concert, featuring Sound of Man.

The sold-out concert was a resounding success.
