Vintage -music lovers are in for a treat as the line-up for the final Original Startime stage show boasts some of Jamaica's most popular music veterans.

The curtains are set to come down on one of Jamaica's longest-running live shows on Saturday, May 5, at Mas Camp. With Marcia Griffiths, Sanchez, Leroy Sibbles, and Horace Andy among those set to perform, organisers seem bent on ensuring that they end the show on a high.

In addition to the artistes mentioned above, Ernie Smith, Boris Gardner, U-Roy, and Cornel Campbell have also been booked alongside Lloyd Parkes and the We the People Band as the backing band. The show is scheduled to start at 8:30 p.m., but with the final show expected to pull a huge crowd, gates will be opened from as early as 6 p.m.

In a recent interview with The Sunday Gleaner, Michael Barnett expressed sadness that after three decades, the show has to come to an end but says that those who turn up to be a part of the final chapter will not be disappointed in the quality entertainment he and his team have in store for them.

"We will have thrilling performances from all our Startime artistes, along with exceptional, authentic backing from Lloyd Parks and We the People," he said. "We will have lots of giveaways from our treasured sponsors and the well-known Startime vibes people have become accustomed to."

He also pointed out that in addition to being satisfied on stage, patrons can expect all aspects of the event to line up with what they have come to expect from Startime over the years. He said that the show has maintained a reputation for being an incident-free show and assures the public that this will continue to the very end.

"Weather permitting, the concert will display all the traditions of Startime: detailed organisation from the team and all stakeholders, including security and the police; adequate secured parking in the National Stadium car park; easy access in and out of the venue, ultra-safe surroundings; an on-time start to the concert; and overall, a tight and exciting production."
