State Minister in the Education Ministry Floyd Green says he expects to receive on Monday, the long-awaited report of the fire department on the blaze at the Walker's Place of Safety which killed two female wards.

Green in a Tweet said the fire commissioner has indicated that the report is now complete.

He said he will review the document, along with the ministry's internal report, and provide an update.

A January 16 fire destroyed the Walker's Place of Safety on Lyndhurst Crescent in St Andrew killing 12-year-old Anika McCrea and 16-year-old Annakay Moreland and displaced 34 other wards and their caregivers.

The Walker's Place of Safety was a transitional residence for children, generally up to 12-years-old, who have been abandoned or removed from their homes because of unstable conditions.

It provided food and shelter, along with access to educational services and health care.
