The Portland police are searching for clues to hunt down the killers of 70-year-old businessman Lloyd Chambers.

Chambers last night became the fifth person to be murdered in the eastern parish since the start of the year after he was shot at his home in Windsor Castle district.

The police report that about 10 o'clock, Chambers arrived at his home and parked his motor vehicle.

He reportedly handed a bag containing money to his wife and then walked back to close his gate when he was attacked by a group of men armed with handguns.

A shootout ensued and Chambers was shot multiple times.

The police say his licensed firearm, a Glock 17 pistol, bearing the serial number ABFF638, was taken by the attackers who then fled.

Chambers was rushed to the Annotto Bay Hospital where he was pronounced dead.
