POWERFUL RED has a lot in his favour and will be hard to beat in tomorrow's second race, the opening event of the Sunrise-6 at Caymanas Park.

The 1400 metres race is restricted to $180,000 claimers who have not earned $150,000 since March 14. POWERFUL RED has had three races since that time, placing fifth twice and third once. On his last run just over a month ago on June 9 he carried 55kg and placed fifth by nine lengths in a 1200 metres race won by Clearly Ours. He returns very light, at 51kg, against a weaker field and could go all the way in this milder pace. Apprentice Oneil Beckford has the ride.

The third race for maiden three-year-olds over 800 metres straight has attracted 10 starters and MRS KIM is the firm selection. She disputed the lead in 23.0x46.1 splits in a 1000 metres race last Saturday, and with nothing of the ability of last week's winner, Valderrama, in the line-up should be well clear of rivals at the business end of the race. Before last Saturday's run, MRS KIM showed improved form on the exercise track when fitted with the cheek pieces and should finally reward her connections with a win after 14 starts without a victory or second place.

Race Four is Division Two of the 800 metres event run in honour of veteran owner and breeder Vin Lumsden on Jamaica Racehorse Trainers Association Day. Like MRS KIM, horse number two NUCLEAR DAN DADA has shown up well early in his races. The four year-old colt did, in fact, finish ahead of MRS KIM in that race won by Valderrama. He held his form well until the final 100 metres and will not be beaten.

The fifth event, section two of the $180,000 race for horses who have not earned $150,000 since March 14, looks tailored for FOOT SOLDIER. The four-year-old colt comes back to one of the lowest claiming levels after just one victory in 17 starts. In his last run at this level on April 7, FOOT SOLDIER was fourth by just under three lengths to Royal Girl in a 1000 metres round race after swerving at the start. He was claimed out of that race and has been campaigning against much better horses over the past three months. With normal improvement, he should be able to easily defeat this mostly out of form group of older horses.

The very fast SIEMPRE BUENO is the tip for Race Six, while IMPLY OUTRAGEOUS has the best overall form in the seventh and could go all the way in the 1500 metres event.
