'I prefer Prem' - Sarri
New Chelsea boss Maurizio Sarri might have only played two games in his new league, but he is already admitting that he prefers the Premier League to Serie A.
Sarri, who spent several seasons at Napoli, where he failed to win a trophy despite winning plaudits for his team's playing style, has led Chelsea to back-to-back victories in the league.
These came after losing heavily to Manchester City in the Community Shield, and the coach was asked about the differences between the two leagues.
BEFORE THE MATCH
"In Italy, it was a war before the match. I think in Serie A, at 2-0 after 20 minutes the match is finished. Here it's a party before the match!" he said at a press conference ahead of Chelsea's visit to Newcastle United tomorrow. "I prefer here."
The 59-year-old also paid tribute to Newcastle coach Rafa Benitez, who he had replaced at Napoli.
"I have to say thank you to Rafa. When I arrived in Naples, I had the feeling that the team was almost ready to play my football," said Sarri. "If I arrived after another coach, it may have been more difficult for me. He's a very good coach."
"Sunday (tomorrow) will be very difficult for us. Chelsea lost 3-0 there last season, but Manchester United and Arsenal also lost."
