Jamaica Prefects' Association relaunches
Several student leaders from across the country are to gather today for the relaunch of the Jamaica Prefects' Association.
The event is being hosted at the Douglas Orane Auditorium, Wolmer's Boys' School, in Kingston.
The Jamaica Prefects' Association represents students from secondary schools, coordinates prefectures islandwide, and promotes the development of student leaders. The body was initially launched in 2009 by then head boy of Jamaica College, Carlos Gordon.
Minister of state in the Ministry of Education Youth, Culture and Information, Floyd Green, will be guest speaker at the launch.
Head students from some 50 schools from all six education regions in the country will ratify the constitution for the association and discuss activities for the year.
