Cornwall, Frome set for tough battle

Aaron Lawrence, coach of Frome Technical High, says his focus will be on his team and not on what Cornwall College have achieved over the past two weeks when the two schools clash this evening in the semi-finals of the ISSA/WATA daCosta Cup at the Montego Bay Sports Complex. Kick-off time is 6 o'clock.

In the opening game at 4 p.m. Clarendon College will go up against Dinthill Technical.

"Everybody thinks that this game is going to be tough. I said from the start of the season that every game will be a tough test because I do not take any team lightly," Lawrence said. He added that Cornwall had reached the Champions Cup final but their game plan remains the same.

Frome were eliminated from the ISSA Champions Cup from the round of 16 two weeks ago and Lawrence said the rest was good for them.

"The daCosta Cup was my focus, it's more prestigious and what every school plays for. I am looking forward to a good showing from the boys," said Lawrence.

Dr Dean Weatherly, the coach of Cornwall, believes the hard work they have put in is coming together at the right time but he respects his opponents.

"Frome are not a team to be taken lightly. They have a very good coach and a good set of players so we will have to be on our A-game tomorrow (today). Right now they are between us and the daCosta Cup finals so we will be going with all guns blazing," said Weatherly.
