Singer Richie Stephens is getting set to embark on his ‘2019 World Tour,’ which will include stops in the USA, Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, Australia and Japan. The tour, which will feature Masia One from Singapore, is to support the launch of Stephens brand new album, Jamaican Flava.

“This tour will be a career-changing experience for me, as I will be performing in Malaysia, Indonesia, Australia and Singapore, cities that very few reggae or dancehall acts get to play,” the Live Your Life singer shared with The Gleaner.

“I am getting a chance to introduce the music and culture of Jamaica to people who probably don’t know much, whether we are talking about reggae, dancehall or ska,” he added.

One of the most anticipated stops on the tour will be the Jamaica Music & Food Festival (JMFF) that takes place on November 10 in Sydney, Australia. Stephens will headline the festival alongside Mad Professor, Masia One, Flames Eye and several other reggae, rocksteady, dub and ska performers from England, Australia and Singapore.

“I have big plans for this event, which promises to be an outstanding presentation of Jamaican food and culture. Last year I performed and the promoters Stick Moreebo and Zare Demus decided to bring me back this year,” Stephens shared.

Speaking about collaborating with Stephens, Masia One said, “The process of collaborating with Richie has already made me learn so much about vocals and work ethics. It is my hope that I can return some of this, by sharing with Richie the vast and growing scene in South East Asia.”

The ‘World Tour’ kicks off on October 19 in New York, and while there, Stephens will launch his Jamaican Flava album at Sandz Bar & Grill in Queens.
