Amazon Warriors beat Royals by five wickets

BASSETERRE, St Kitts (CMC):

Guyana Amazon Warriors Women defeated Barbados Royals Women by five wickets in the third game of the Women’s Sixty a Warner Park here Wednesday.

Jamaicans Stafanie Taylor and Rashada Williams starred for the second time on the opening day, with good batting performances. Taylor top-scored with 33 runs and Williams chipped in with 22 not out, as they led the Amazon Warriors to 59 for one in a successful run-chase.

Scores:

ROYALS WOMEN 58 off 9.3 overs (Chloe Tryon 24; Cherry Ann Fraser 3-6); AMAZON WARRIORS WOMEN 59 for one off eight overs (Stafanie Taylor 33 not out, Rashada Williams 22 not out).

Taylor and Williams had earlier played a lead role in the Warriors' opening win, with Taylor, the team's captain, scoring 29 not out and Williams 24.
