Nicholas Haynes got a preview of his beautiful bride, Isheka Watson, at their first look and his eyes glistened with excitement. That spark of romance grew bigger and brighter as the loving couple said ‘I do’ at Caymanas Golf Club, celebrating their nuptials against the breathtaking hue of royal blue heralding to the day they met.

The two coincidentally attended a charity boat ride on the Caribbean Queen on Port Royal Street back in 2010. Although the weather was rainy, 16-year-old Isheka stunned in a floral halter maxi dress. After all, you never know when you will meet the love of your life. And luckily for her, she did on that very fateful night.

“I started to get hungry, so I made my way to the buffet and got some pastries. Walking up the stairs, back to where my mother was, I heard a mysterious voice,” she told Island Wedding. That voice belonged to Nicholas who decided to ask her for a piece of her pastry. Blushing, she ignored the handsome teenage boy and made an embarrassing flash in the process.

“I stepped on my dress and my ‘tits’ accidentally jumped out to say hello. I hurriedly put those bad girls in and hastily made my way to my mom,” she recounted.

Making her way out to the deck to recover from the humiliating encounter, Isheka came face-to-face with the handsome stranger once again. This time, he was here to help. “I asked her if she wanted a jacket because she was hugging herself while admiring the view,” Nicholas shared. She was able to give a response this time around but quickly disappeared, much to his disappointment.

Soon after, the charity boat ride was over and Isheka was making her way to the docks. Not before being stopped by a random woman on deck, “She complimented me on my dress, saying how good it looked on me.”

Before she could question the reason or thank her for her kind words, Isheka was handed a piece of paper which had a name and phone number written down. “While pointing in the direction of the handsome boy who had been making every effort to get my attention, she proceeded to say, ‘My friend likes you’.” This planted seed went on to bloom into a beautiful union.

Isheka initially found Nicholas to be the sweetest and cutest person she had ever met. Nicholas shared similar sentiments, noting that he always thought that she was beautiful and he was always of the belief that he would marry her some day. “I knew nothing about relationships back then but I knew I had to see her and talk to her every day,” he recalled.

The two decided to enter into a relationship nine months after they met. “We were young and my mom was very strict so dating and meeting up was a no-no. We spoke over the phone until he decided that he wanted me to meet his parents at a birthday party at his house for one of his siblings,” she added.

The pair went on a first date to the movies, chaperoned by Nicholas’ father. This was her first date ever and she loved it.

Describing her husband as selfless, determined, hardworking, willing and respectful, Isheka continued to be amazed at the provider he has become, going above and beyond for family and friends.

“Nicholas plays a huge part in who I am today, and I say that confidently. He sees me in a more positive light than I see myself. Most of my life experiences and interests are because of him. He always encourages me to never doubt myself and to go for whatever it is I set out to do. Best believe he is going to be right there cheering me on too. Big on relationships and family, he always ensures that we speak about our problems and find solutions. He always shows appreciation and for that I know I am loved. He takes initiative and responsibilities and he listens,” she revealed.

Astounded by her beauty and elegance, Nicholas loves how classy, sexy and smart his wife is. “She brings millions to my world,” he said, adding, “She ensures I step up to the plate at all times. She pushes me to strive for the better and never doubt myself. She is the builder, communicator and she gets things done.”

To rekindle the romance or just to unwind from hectic times, you can find this couple on an adventure, one that usually includes the beach.

Isheka realised Nicholas was the one the moment she began doing housework in anticipation of his visits. “I never do housework,” she added with a laugh.

While for Nicholas, the day they found out she was pregnant made everything concrete for him. “The way she spoke about us as a family. The way she spoke about how she was going to bring up our child. The way she made plans surrounding family. I knew I chose the right one.”

After nine years of dating, Nicholas made his dreams come true by asking Isheka to marry him in a pixie proposal.

Was it a coincidence that out of the family, Nicholas and Isheka picked each other as pixies? She got him an engraved box with his favourite stuff, Appleton. “I swore my gift was the best. He handed me a box and I had to open it. It took me a while to open but when I finally did, there was a teddy bear wearing a shirt that said, ‘Isheka, Will You Marry Me!’ I turned around and I saw this man on his knee. I ugly cried yes before he could pop the question. I loved that everybody including our parents and friends were able to share this moment with us.”

The engaged couple enlisted Shereece Anglin of Sher Alecia Productions as the official wedding planner. Thorough, she filled the duo in on every part of the way. The process was tiring but she made it very smooth. As for the wedding dress, she said yes to Cochen Bridal, who turned her dream into reality with her two-in-one dress.

Rain poured so much on the morning of their wedding day, on April 15, that it threatened to move their outdoor wedding inside. But the sunshine returned in its radiant glory and the two joined hands and heart in holy matrimony in a magnificent wedding ceremony. The newly-weds shared their official dance at the reception to Every Kind of Way by H.E.R.

“Everything was marvellous,” the gorgeous bride gushed. While for the groom, his best moment was experiencing the first kiss as husband and wife.
