Shericka Jackson successfully defended her 100-metre national title inside the National Stadium this evening but more than that, clocked a massive personal best and world lead.

Jackson got out of the blocks well and drove right through the finish line to stop the clock at 10.65 seconds.

Second at the JAAA/PUMA National Senior and Junior Trials was Sashalee Forbes in 10.96, with Natasha Morrison third in 10.98.

Elaine Thompson-Herah, who has had an injury-plagued season had to settle for fifth in a time of 11.06, finishing behind Briana Williams, 11.01.
