Street Eatz: FJ Smoke House spicing things up in Linstead
With two years of operation under its belt, FJ Smoke House is aiming to deliver delectable taste at an affordable cost. Located at Rosehall in Linstead, St Catherine, it is becoming a household name for satisfying the palates of foodies from all over Jamaica.
“The improved road network makes travelling faster to enjoy the ambience and a scrumptious meal,” Alicia Fennel, manager of FJ Smoke House, shared.
They offer an array of dishes, such as sandwiches and seafood dishes, including the garlic buttered shrimp with sweet corn and curried coconut lobster and oven jerked chicken, with your choice of sides, including pressed green plantains, mashed potatoes and garden salad. There was also, on the day that we visited, the dish of the day – stewed peas.
“These dishes are often served with a side order decided by the customer, as the aim is to please each palate that enters,” proprietor, Osbourne Fennel, told Food.
Fennel described the business as an oasis for Linstead and surrounding communities that aims to bring a high level of taste and service home to the town. “We are trying to bring the service which is in Ocho Rios or Kingston [here],” Fennel said.
Offering venue rental and catering, FJ Smoke House also aims to give residents more options for fun, entertainment and community.
For those unable to visit the physical location, FJ Smoke House offers free delivery service, daily, except Mondays.
