The Jamaica Technology and Digital Alliance (JTDA) formerly Jamaica Computer Society, a leading advocate for the ICT community and a pillar in the Jamaican technology landscape, elected a new executive team on Thursday, February 29.
A release notes that the election ‘marks the beginning of a renewed journey towards innovation, empowerment, and community engagement’.
“Under the guidance of Immediate Past President Adrian Dunkley, the JTDA has achieved remarkable growth and left an indelible mark on the technology sector in Jamaica. The organisation, as it commemorates its 49th year, remains committed to its mission of access, influence, and empowerment within the ICT community.
In 2024, the JTDA embarks on a series of initiatives designed to fortify the community and foster digital innovation. The “My Membership Matters’’ campaign aims to strengthen community bonds, while the Member Plus programme, in collaboration with BCS, The Chartered Institute of IT, enhances membership benefits. The Jamaica Cyber Skills Initiative and the Tech Alliance Fund Crowdfunding Platform are set to provide pivotal support for tech projects and digital skills development. Additionally, the annual BizTech Conference, aligning with JTDA’s 40th anniversary, will convene industry leaders and visionaries, reinforcing the organisation’s role at the forefront of technological advancement.
“This year is not merely a celebration of our longstanding history, but a recommitment to driving progress, innovation, and empowerment within Jamaica’s vibrant technology sector,” stated Almando Cox, the newly elected president.
