Zone B leaders STETHS gunning to secure a semi-final place in the ISSA/TVJ Super 8 T20 competition.

The final set of matches to determine the semifinalists in this year’s ISSA/TVJ Super 8 T20 cricket competition will be played across two venues today with the top-of-the-table zone clash between leaders Manchester and second-place Clarendon College set to bowl off at Sir P Oval in Clarendon at 9:30 a.m.

Both sides enter the fixture with a win and a no-result and four points and a positive result for either side will see them advancing to the final four.

Urban area team Kingston College will square off with St Catherine High at Chedwin Park starting at 9:30 a.m. Both teams are on a point each and they are also in with a chance of advancing from Zone A. However, the net run rate will factor in if either of them got a win and Manchester can get the better of Clarendon College.

Over in Zone B, leaders St Elizabeth Technical High School will face third-place Excelsior High in the second game of the doubleheader at Sir P Oval. A win for St Elizabeth guarantees them a final-four berth, while Excelsior will be look to pull off the victory and jump to six points which would also see them advancing.

In the 1:30 p.m. game at Chedwin Park, second-place Tacky High will do battle with the eliminated St George’s College who are at the foot of the table without a point from the two games they have played.

Victory for Tacky will guarantee them a spot in the semi-finals, slated to be played on Friday, May 10 at Sabina Park with the grand final set to take place on Saturday, May 18 at the same venue. For the first time in the competition, a Grace Shield and Headley Cup 10-over-a \-side Masters match will take place before the final.
