Probes launched into death of detainee in Trelawny lock-up

The police and the Independent Commission of Investigations are investigating the death of a detainee in a lock-up in Trelawny on Thursday.

The deceased has been identified as Wayne Mott, 52, from Hague in Trelawny.

He was reportedly found unresponsive in his cell at the Falmouth police lock-up, around 11 a.m. 

He was rushed to the Falmouth Public General Hospital where he was pronounced dead. 

Mott was in custody on a charge of assault occasioning bodily harm.
