BUFF BAY, Portland:

Principal of Buff Bay Primary School Jacqueline Edwards has commended the effort of Portland-based spring water company Lifespan for what she described as their unwavering commitment towards education.

Edwards shared her sentiments on Tuesday during the undertaking of a facelift of the boys’ bathroom at the school. She was quick to point out that it was not the first time that the bottled water company was providing needy assistance to the institution, having donated six smart whiteboards to the school.

“It means that our stakeholders are on board and as such they play an integral role in the growth and development of this institution,” she commented.

“Lifespan has been instrumental in providing us with some smart whiteboards over time, which we really appreciate because they enhance teaching and learning. And for them taking on the bathroom at this time, we really appreciate it as it will give our school a facelift and the children will be more comfortable going into that space,” Edwards continued.

“They use the space on a daily basis, and when it is painted, looking fresh and nice and welcoming they will better appreciate the space,” she added.

Excellent business relationship

According to Edwards, Lifespan and the school have what she described as an excellent business relationship wherein the school purchases products from that company and they benefit from donations and projects, which help to develop the institution.

Meanwhile, Lifespan’s executive assistant, Jessica Hartley, explained that it was a matter of priority which led to the boys’ bathroom being painted on Tuesday, as one of the company’s main focus was to identify how best they could assist with improving the environment.

“We made a promise to the school and today we are painting the boys’ bathroom as a team. This team is all about giving their time to ensure that this school-based project is a success,” Hartley pointed out.

“We were so eager to undertake this painting project and it is quite evident as it relates to the high turnout of staff. We have been doing our best to encourage and implore the younger generation to focus on not just their physical and mental well-being, but also their education, which is a very important tool for them grow and to become useful men and women who can contribute significantly to the society,” she stated.

Among those involved in the painting was Lifespan General Manager Robert Scott.
