Buying and furnishing a house is a monumental task, and 41-year-old electrician Samosa Traille knows the challenge all too well. For over 20 years, Traille has dedicated himself to his trade with a dream of providing a new and comfortable home for his family. He never thought one six-pack of beer would answer his furniture woes.

In May, during a routine trip to the supermarket, Traille bought a six-pack of Red Stripe beer to share with his colleagues. On a whim, he entered the “Guh Fi Gold and Glory” Olympics campaign competition, thinking nothing of it as the beer was his target.

“After a long day of work, my friends and I always grab Red Stripe beers to catch up – this was our routine. So, knowing a casual day turned into such a blessing was a big surprise,” he shared.

Two days later, Traille received a phone call that changed his life. He got the exciting news that he had won a full living room set courtesy of Red Stripe.

Journeying to the Spanish Town Road Brewery and finally at the official handover, he was still in disbelief as they brought out his new three-piece sofa, a 64-inch television, and a state-of-the-art sound bar.

“I cannot begin to describe how much I appreciate this. I am currently working on constructing a new home for my family and I, so getting my living room furnished for the price of a Red Stripe six-pack is an unbelievable deal,” he shared.

FOCUSED ON CONSTRUCTION

“I recently got the plan from the parish council to build my new home. However, I’ve not just been focused on construction; I’ve also set my eyes on the furnishings as well. Over the past few months, I have been an Amazon regular, searching the site for the perfect pieces to complete my space,” Traille recalled.

Winning a full living room makeover brought immense joy to Samosa and his wife, moving them one step closer to their dream home. Now, they can enjoy their current space with brand-new furniture that will eventually complete their new house.

Traille, the loyal Red Stripe drinker, eagerly awaits the Olympics, looking forward to supporting the athletes from the comfort of his newly furnished living room. He also plans to share this unexpected gift with his friends and family, inviting them to enjoy the new space together.

“Red Stripe is thrilled to have been a part of Samosa’s journey. We love giving back to our loyal customers and seeing how our promotions can positively impact their lives. The excitement I feel during handovers is indescribable. Witnessing the joy and happiness of the recipients is truly rewarding. It reinforces our commitment to making a positive difference in our country,” said Red Stripe Junior Brand Manager Arnaldo Martin.

Every two weeks since May 1, Red Stripe has been giving away living room makeovers to persons who buy a six-pack to show their support for the Jamaican athletes as they ‘Guh Fi Gold and Glory’.
