Three brothers killed in car crash in Bahamas
NASSAU, Bahamas, CMC – Three brothers were killed during a vehicular accident on Monday, the police in the Bahamas have confirmed.
They said that Philip McCarron Christie, 24, Philip D'Caprio Christie, 23, and D'Angelo Christie, 20, were killed when the vehicle being, which was being driven on the Sir Milo Butler Highway, crashed into a tree after the driver lost control.
They were all pronounced dead at the scene.
Transport Minister JoBeth Coleby-Davis said so far this year, over 60 per cent of traffic fatalities were men, with most under the age of 46.
She also said that 77 per cent of fatal accidents occurred between 4:00 p.m. and 8:00 a.m. and occurring particularly on Sundays and Mondays.
In a joint statement from the Bahamas Telecommunications Company and Bahamas Power and Light, where the two elder brothers worked, the companies said that the staff “were shocked and saddened by the news of this tragedy.”
