Two guns seized, four arrested in St Andrew police operations

Police seized two illegal firearms and arrested four men in operations in St Andrew on Saturday.

The first seizure occurred around 10 p.m. on Bay Farm Road. 

A police team found a Zastava 9mm pistol and 12 rounds of ammunition hidden in a bag under the front passenger seat of a Nissan Sedan motor car.  They had signalled the car to stop. 

Four men were taken into custody in connection with the discovery.

About an hour later, at 11:20 p.m., another police team on Collies Road in the Olympic Gardens police division responded to reports of gunfire.

Upon arrival, they saw a man fleeing and dropping a Sig Sauer pistol with eight 9mm rounds

.The suspect escaped into a nearby property.
