Trinidadian health minister robbed at gunpoint

PORT OF SPAIN, Trinidad, CMC- Trinidad and Tobago's Health Minister Terrence Deyalsingh has confirmed that he was robbed by two  gunmen on Tuesday in his constituency in St Joseph, along the east west corridor.

In a video posted on social media, Deyalsingh said that he was in his constituency, sitting near a church “five o clock, hot sun… with a constituent”  when “two fellars walked up to me, put a gun to my head and robbed me of my bracelet” which is a  traditional Indian-style gold bracelet .

Deyalsingh, who appeared unharmed, was also heard telling someone on the phone “I am just letting you know where crime has reached”.

In the video, police officers are seen driving away from the scene in a marked police vehicle.

Police have so far not issued any statement on the incident.
