Searching for sanctuary
They say when it arrives, you will feel its spell
Hearts shift, emotions swell.
All the pain will fade, peace will descend,
You’ve found the one you’ll cherish, the one you’ll defend.
But it’s one-sided, they don’t share your zeal,
In your mind’s labyrinth, none of it feels real.
You thought this was it, your forever, your grace,
Yet alas, today it fades, perhaps without a trace.
You feign indifference, bury sorrow deep,
How can this be the finale when you had plans to keep?
Filled with disappointment, you strive to move ahead,
Hoping, praying, these feelings you will someday shed.
To another love, another time, you venture seek,
A haven to laugh and love, where vulnerability is not weak.
A realm to give your all, where authenticity is key,
A sanctuary where joy abounds, where you can simply be free.

Life goes on
Sunrise, birds sing morning songs,
Clock ticks, life goes on,
make haste, make bread,
trees sway and bend,
Quick walk, much talk
Clock ticks, life goes on…
Silence.
Tick
Silence!
Tock
Crickets play, hunger wanes,
moon peaks, mosquitos sing evening songs,
blood spills, life wails,
eyes close, bones sleep.
Sunset. Tick tock, Clock ticks,
life goes on…
