The Rotary Club of Spanish Town last week honoured Andrew Mahfood, chief executive officer of WISYNCO and chairman of Food for the Poor with a Vocational Services Month award.

The service club celebrates Vocational Services Month to encourage its members and the community to hold high ethical standards in business affairs and professional practices.

Awardees are selected based on their adherence to the highest ethical standards in all occupations, including fair treatment of employees, associates, competitors and the public, according to a release.

“We have had so many interactions with Food for the Poor and what it has been doing with the committee through the Rotary Club of Spanish Town,” said Desmond Hutchinson, President of the Spanish Town chapter.

“When the whole idea came up for awarding somebody for the manifestation of their vocation in the committee, without hesitation we said Andrew Mahfood,” he added.

A distributor and manufacturer, WISYNCO directly employs more than 1,500 people across the island.
