Stocks Round Up | MDS biggest winner, Trans Jamaican Highway biggest loser

The Jamaica Stock Exchange (JSE) Combined Index marginally declined today. The moderate to heavy trading ended with an advance/decline ratio of 49/44.

The JSE Combined Index declined by 4,788.06 points (1.27 per cent) to close at 371,061.04.

The JSE Main Market Index declined by 5,339.22 points (1.47 per cent) to close at 357,194.84, while the Junior Market Index advanced by 22.70 points (0.55 per cent) to close at 4,123.51.

The JSE USD Equities Index advanced by 4.49 points (2.24 per cent) to close at 204.80.

  • MDS up 19.79 per cent to close at $6.90
  • Margaritaville Turks up 14.29 per cent to close at US$0.12

  • Transjamaican Highway (USD) up 13.10 per cent to close at US$0.01
  • Berger Paints up 11.68 per cent to close at $11.49

Losers

  • Trans Jamaican Highway eight per cent, down 25.38 per cent to close at $1.47
  • CAC 2000 9.5 per cent Cumalative Preference Share down 15.09 per cent closing at $0.90
  • Blue Power Group down 13.18 per cent closing at $3.03
  • JMMB Group 7.25 per cent JMD Cr. Preference Share, down 12.63 per cent to close at $1.66.
  • Tropical Battery down 10.87 per cent to close at $2.46

Market volume

  • Some 40.37 million units valued at over $115 million were traded today.
  • Volume leaders were: Trans Jamaican Highway eight per cent, followed by Dolla and Transjamaican Highway.
