Cuba has denounced the decision taken by United States President Donald Trump to re-impose some travel and trade restrictions between the two countries.

Despite this, Cuba says it is willing to continue what it describes as the respectful dialogue with the US.

The restrictions were removed by former US President Barack Obama as part of his attempts to normalise relations between the US and Cuba after more than five decades of crippling economic sanctions.

However, speaking in the state of Florida yesterday, Trump said the restrictions were being re-imposed because the previous arrangements were one-sided.

However, Trump says key diplomatic and commercial ties would not be reversed.
