Petite tackle tall in Pulse search
As the Pulse Million Dollar Model Search 2015 TV show winner, Alicia Burke, excels internationally, the current model hopefuls have set their sights on grabbing top honours in this year's competition. This season, for the first time in the competition's history, the petites will go up against the fashion set for a $1 million in cash and prizes.
Burke's performance in the competition and her subsequent quick and massive impact in the global space is inspiration for the 2016 CMS TV contestants. With an international career just under a year old, Burke impressed editors and casting directors with editorials for French and Italian Vogue, as well as a cover for famed British glossy Harper's Bazaar. Several of Burke's key campaigns are set to unfold in the fall as she readies for her first full season on the world's runway circuit.
Known for their sass and spunk, the petite models have always felt they could prove their mettle against taller girls, who are standard fare in the international market. And though the hallowed halls of fashion have been the exclusive domain of the 5'10" lanky stunner, times are changing.
The CMS reality TV series 2016 will capture the fierce competitive spirit and grit of two sets of contestants looking to make their mark on the fashion landscape. The petite contestants in this year's show are Kamara Belnavis, Christina Boswell, Celine Deidrick, Nastassia Faloon, Kara Fong, Kamaria Johnson, Sara Dee Palmer, Christina Robinson, Tia Tate, Cleopatra White and Christal Williams.
Their taller rivals are Sashalee Bent, Latania Blackwood, Shamoy Brown, Daneica Clarke, Abigail Dillion, Georgia Gentles, Harianna Hutchinson, Kayla Ennis, Tia Robinson, Susan Walker and Natalie Prout.
Viewers will be able to experience the challenges and thrills of the series on TVJ in September.
Since 1980, Pulse has produced models such as Kimberley Mais, Angela Neil, Carla Campbell, Romae Gordon, Althea Laing, Lincoln Wynter and Lois Samuels. More recently, there have been supermodels Jeneil Williams, Oraine Barrett, Jaunel McKenzie, Sedene Blake, Nell Robinson and Nadine Willis.
The Million Dollar Model Search reality TV series will continue this rich tradition of discovering and developing globally recognised modelling talent.
