Unstoppable top J’can album on Billboard

Beenie Man's Unstoppable has debuted midway the top 10 of the Billboard Reggae Albums chart for the week of October 8, 2016. However, its upward movement on the Billboard listing contrasts with a free fall on the iTunes ranking of reggae albums up to 7:10 a.m., yesterday, when Unstoppable was at number 33. It is a dramatic decline from its number four slot at the same time last week.
Unstoppable is one of three albums by Jamaican performers currently in the Billboard Reggae Albums top 10.
Marley brothers Stephen and Ziggy are very close to each other at numbers seven (Revelation Part II: The Fruit of Life) and eight (Ziggy Marley), respectively. However, this week, Stephen is on the wane as in its ninth week on the chart, his album has slipped a place from least week's number six. Ziggy has caught a second wind in his eponymous set's 18th week on the Billboard listing, clawing his way back from being on the brink of slipping out of the top 10 last week.
Revelation Part II: The Fruit of Life holds the number 12 position on the iTunes chart, while Ziggy Marley is at number 29.
There is a new Billboard Reggae Albums chart-topper in Make it Better, by Giant Panda Guerilla Dub Squad, which is making its debut. That set is at number 16 on the iTunes list.
Rebelution's Falling Into Place has risen to number two from being fourth last week. It is in its 16th week on the chart. It is at number six on the iTunes chart.
The Frightnrs (Nothing More to Say) and John Brown's Body (Fireflies) have both lost ground with their former number one albums to be at numbers three and four, respectively.
LONGEVITY TITLE
Set in Stone by Stick Figure takes the top 10's longevity title this week. After 45 weeks on the Billboard Reggae Albums ranking it is at number six, up a spot from last week. Its staying power carries over to iTunes, where it holds the number seven slot.
After the Marley brothers, Keep it Together by Bumpin Uglies (ninth) and Wandering Soul by HIRIE (10th) complete the chart's top tier. Keep it Together tumbled from third last week, while Wandering Soul dipped by a place from number nine.
Soja's concert album, Live in Virginia, topped the iTunes reggae albums listing on the day it was released. There were two other new releases in the top five, namely The Orange Album by Seedless at number three and Bounce by The New English Beat and Ranking Roger.
Two versions of the same album by Bob Marley and the Wailers are at numbers two and five. Legend (Remastered) is at number two, while Legend (Deluxe Edition) is at number five. Both have a release date of of May 8, 1984.
Bob Marley and the Wailers have yet another set in the iTunes top 10 with Gold (number eight). Rebelution has a top-10 triple with Peace of Mind (Deluxe) at number nine and Courage to Grow at 10.
Stephen Marley's previous album, Revelation Part I: The Root of Life, is number 27 on iTunes; Vybz Kartel's King of the Dancehall is at number 30; Alkaline's New Level Unlocked holds number 31; Ward 21's Power Surge is at number 35 a week after being released; Dread and Terrible by Chronixx occupies the 48th position; Popocaan's Where We Come From is at number 51; and Buju Banton's Til Shiloh is 24th.
Let Me Love You by DJ Snake featuring Justin Bieber keeps Jamaican dancehall beats high on the Billboard Hot 100 with the 'Diwali' riddim-based Let Me Love You at number four. Sean Paul is just behind with the Jamaican voice, as his Cheap Thrills combination with Sira is at number five.
The borrowing of 1990s Jamaican dancehall lyrics weighs in further down the listing with Torey Lanez's LUV (which has lines from Tanto Metro and Devonte's Everyone Falls in Love Sometimes) at position 22. All in My Head (Flex) by Fifth Harmony and Fetty Wap, which takes line for Cobra's Flex, is at number 63, falling from 52 on the previous' week's ranking.
Drake's Controlla, with its Beenie Man insert of Tear Off Mi Garment, is at number 33.
