Bob's birthday today

Today, Bob Marley would have been 72 years old, as he died at 36 in 1981. In terms of years, he has been dead for the same length of time as he has been alive. Last night's Redemption Live! concert at the Half-Way Tree Transport Centre, as well as today's all-day celebrations at 56 Hope Road, are two of the more prominent celebrations of the Tuff Gong's birthday.
The Kaya Fest will take place on April 22 at the Bayfront Park Amphitheatre, Miami, featuring Damian 'Jr Gong' Marley, Stephen 'Ragga' Marley, Ky-Mani Marley, Ziggy Marley, Lauryn Hill, Sean Paul, Inner Circle, and more.
Then in December, the Smile Jamaica concert will take place at Grizzly's Plantation Cove.
An indication of Bob's enduring appeal is a number of Bob Marley and the Wailers' albums on the iTunes listing of top 100 reggae albums. At just after 3 p.m. yesterday, Legend (Remastered) was at number two and Legend (Deluxe Edition) at number three.
