Comedy Bar showcase to assist Hope Gardens

The Comedy Bar Special showcase, scheduled for the Shell Bandstand in Hope Gardens, has committed to assist the venue with its massive maintenance project with part proceeds of the profits of the event.

The Hope Botanical Gardens is ramping up the initiative to save this large, lush green space, especially during times of drought here in Jamaica. Consistent maintenance and cleaning of the popular property is quite costly, and so partnering with events like the Johnny LIVE Comedy Bar Special to assist with these expenses is a smart move.

Comedian Chris ‘Johnny’ Daley, CEO of the Johnny LIVE Comedy Bar brand, also sees this partnership as giving back to a space that he has a more personal connection to him as a young actor and comedian.

“The Shell Bandstand is the space that hosted Miss Lou with her Ring Ding series many years ago, and I myself have done many cultural performances on that stage from I was a child. This is a dream come true for me to be able to partner with the Hope Gardens to give back to a space with a deep cultural effect,” Daley explained in a press release.

The Johnny LIVE Comedy Bar Special, while presenting a US-based comedian in BET and ABC stand-up comedy series performer Drew Thomas, also seeks to highlight the competence and talent of home-grown Jamaican acts.

The Johnny LIVE Comedy Bar Special will be staged as an experience with exclusive seating and bar service, as well as a stellar line-up, which also includes Dahlia Harris, Michael V and Chris ’The Entertainer’ Larmond. It will be hosted by popular comedian Ity Ellis.
