JN ‘Together We’re Strong’ fundraising concert

Children in places of safety and other people in vulnerable groups are to receive some cheer this Christmas when The Jamaica National (JN) Group stages a virtual fundraising concert on Sunday at 2 p.m. It is dubbed ‘Together We’re Strong’ and seeks to encourage Jamaicans locally and overseas to support the work of the Mustard Seed Communities. There will be performances from JN Group ambassadors Agent Sasco and gospel singer Kevin Downswell, Tessanne Chin, as well as veteran reggae singer Marcia Griffiths and No-Maddz. Comedic duo Ity and Fancy Cat, as well as Tami Chin and Wayne Marshall, will share hosting duties. The event will be streamed live via the JN Group’s social media platforms.

KSAMC Virtual Christmas Tree-Lighting Ceremony and Concert

The Kingston and St Andrew Municipal Corporation (KSAMC) will host its Virtual Christmas Tree-Lighting Ceremony and Concert on Sunday, December 21, starting at 5 p.m. on Television Jamaica. The event will be hosted by Christopher ‘Johnny’ Daley, and the concert will feature Shenseea, Ding Dong, Tivoli Dance Troupe and others.

Nyabinghi Christmas Special

Tad’s Record and Dean Fraser present a free, virtual ‘Nyabinghi Christmas Special’ on Monday, December 21, at 9 p.m. The concert will be streamed from Tad’s Recording Studio and features saxophonist Dean Fraser and the Nyabinghi Drummers. They will be performing songs from Fraser’s recently released Nyabinghi Christmas album, which features 16 traditional Christmas tracks with a Nyabinghi twist. The songs include When a Child is Born and favourites such as Santa Ketch up Inna Mango Tree, Christmas a Cum (Llama), Deck the Halls, What Child is This, T he First Noel, I Wish You a Merry Christmas, The Little Drummer Boy and Little Donkey.
