Grammy Award-winning artiste Kabaka Pyramid has teamed up with multi-award-winning dancehall artiste Sean Paul for a remix of his song Energy, featuring Jemere Morgan from the historic Morgan Heritage lineage.

Kabaka Pyramid is releasing the deluxe version of his Grammy-award-winning album, The Kalling, and the first track which was released on Friday is the remix of Energy.

This upbeat, fun, party record has the Jamaican artistes in a celebratory mood enjoying life and discouraging any negativity from coming into their space to drain the energy and the mood.

Produced by Damian ‘Jr Gong’ Marley, this fresh interpretation is part of a deluxe version of Kabaka’s critically acclaimed album The Kalling.

Deluxe albums are popular in many genres, including reggae, with several of Bob Marley’s albums, for example, being given that treatment and dominating charts. According to the dailyfreepress.com, “deluxe albums are typically re-released versions of albums, usually including new songs, live performances, acoustic versions and other bonuses. Some deluxe albums have new artwork, while others use the same artwork as the original release. It’s not a new practice, nor does it seem to be dying anytime soon”.

From the 2000s it has become commonplace for a deluxe edition to be released at the same time as the standard edition.
