Dream Weekend makes first stop in 15th anniversary launch series
The Campari Dirty Crushh party recently played host as a Dream Weekend launch party in Negril.
The Sandcastle Entertainment-produced event, which is now enjoying its fifth staging, has been enjoying a boost from the support of Campari and Dream Weekend for the second year running.
The Westmoreland calendar event featured a live performance from rising dancehall star Roze Don, as well as music from top DJs including Bloodline Franco and Brush 1 from Kingston, Heavy D from Chromatic, Macky and Gemini from Negril, and Party Crushaz from Savanna-la-Mar.
“Having Campari and Dream Weekend on board has really elevated our brand and opened more opportunities to us. It gives us encouragement as it shows that we have been putting in the work, for major brands such as those to align with us,” Robert Porter, director, Sandcastle Entertainment, stated.
Group Managing Director, Dream Entertainment Ltd, Scott Dunn, explained why the team felt it important to align with an event in the west.
“Negril is home. The promoters of Dirty Crushh and their patrons support Dream Weekend year in, year out, so it’s important for us to return that support. We consider ourselves part of the community, and showing up in the community is an important part of our engagement. Dream Weekend is a well-respected brand, so whenever we can use it to strengthen other well-run events we will. We hope it will add credibility to these events from the community, sponsors and patrons,” Dunn said.
The DJs kept the vibe as they cycled through different genres pulling on the hits and the usual witty commentary to elicit responses from the crowd. Roze Don was well received by his fans as he delivered his hits, including Bakshat and Little Bit.
Dream Weekend is set for August 2-6 in Negril, with eight events over five days as the party series celebrates its 15th anniversary.
