Alicia Burke: The perfect canvas

Published:Thursday | May 19, 2016 | 12:00 AM

Models.com has branded Pulse's Alicia Burke 'the perfect canvas'.

As her amazing journey continues, this Jamaican beauty has mesmerised the global modelling scene in her five short months on the international circuit. From spreads in French Vogue to Harper's Bazaar to 1883, not to mention a client list that includes Prada, Top Shop, Vivienne Westwood, Bottega Veneta, Benetton, i-D, The Sunday Times, Me & Em, Lesley Goring, J.JS Lee, Theory with David Simms and Azzedine Alaia.

The highly respected model website that ranks models worldwide and provides updates on the latest stars of fashion was gushing, as Alicia made her debut appearance.

According to the website, "Photographer Felicity Ingram treats Jamaican newcomer Alicia Burke like the perfect canvas for these simple but exquisite beauty visuals exclusively for Models.com. It's all about the angles here as the island wonder contorts her lanky frame into graceful poses while Anna Cofone, Gina Kane, and Jessica Hoffman trade off on who gets the beauty spotlight with sculpted hair and strokes of colourful pigments. Stylist Beth Buxton has peeks of glistening skin shine through her textured sartorial selections further accentuating these dreamy portraits sure to keep you transfixed."

Alicia is Jamaica's current hot model, claiming everything from runway stardom to exclusive editorial features in the upcoming August issue of Harper's Bazaar (7 pages) and May issue of French Vogue (12 pages).

In each editorial she appears by herself. For French Vogue, Alicia, the winner of Pulse's 2015 Caribbean Model Search Reality TV show, was shot by David Simms, styled by Katie Grand. For Harper's Bazaar, Burke was photographed by Erik Madigan and styled by Leith Clarke.

Pulse is planning a special celebration to honour Alicia when she comes home for CFW in June. She will also be featured in the upcoming season of the Caribbean Model Search - a must for her, considering that she is the current winner, now set to inspire another generation of hopefuls. The new series is being shot at the Melia Braco, as well as Villa Ronai and other locations across Jamaica.
